Invite Person

Why this matters

Inviting people to your system allows you to collaborate with family members, business partners, or advisors while maintaining control over their access levels and permissions.

Prerequisites

  • You must have Administrator or Owner access to the entity
  • The person's email address
  • Basic information about the person (name)

Steps

  1. Navigate to People section

    Go to the main menu and click on "People" to access the people management dashboard.

  2. Click "Invite Person" button

    In the top-right corner of the People dashboard, click the "Invite Person" button with the person-plus icon.

  3. Fill in invitation details

    In the modal that opens, provide:

    • Email address: The person's email where the invitation will be sent
    • Name: First name or full name of the person
  4. Review invitation details

    The system will show a confirmation message explaining that:

    • An invitation will be sent to the person
    • Once they create an account, they can allow you to edit their profile and manage their accounts
  5. Confirm the invitation

    Click "Send Invitation" to proceed. The system may show a confirmation dialog if an invitation was recently sent to this email address.

  6. Handle confirmation dialog (if shown)

    If the system detects a recent invitation (within 7 days), you'll see a confirmation dialog asking if you want to send the invitation again. Click "Send Anyway" to proceed.

  7. Verify invitation sent

    You'll see a success notification confirming the invitation was sent to the specified email address.

Expected Results

  • The person receives an email invitation to join the system
  • They can create an account and accept your invitation
  • Once accepted, you can manage their profile and access levels
  • The person appears in your People dashboard once they've joined

Example

Example Invitation:
Email: john.smith@email.com
Name: John Smith

This will send an invitation to John Smith. Once he creates an account, he can allow you to edit his profile and manage his accounts.

Troubleshooting

  • Invitation not received: Check spam folder, verify email address is correct
  • Person already has account: They can log in and accept your invitation from their dashboard
  • Invitation expired: Send a new invitation if the previous one has expired
